Having headers on it is hard on the starter also, make sure your heat shield is up to the task. Another thing you could try is a permanent magnet gear reduction starter. Maybe bad valve timing (from loose valves) is makign it hard to get a good mixture in there. Moderate: Check cables (maybe you've got them all already). I have read on another forum that this could be caused by a heat soaked starter / solenoid.
